Giving My Cousin a Helping Hand…

Some people were born to help others. Sometimes those people need a hand too.

My cousin’s son, Jason, has had some recent health problems. He’s heading to Boston and he needs a helping hand along with a few prayers to get him through this. I thought I’d post this here to make it easier for him to get the word out easier.

In Jason’s words…

“Hey everyone, I know many of you have jumped through hoops for me recently and I want you to know how much I appreciate that. I will be heading to Boston for an extended period of time to get me better :) however I need your help. I have had to swallow my pride and stubborness to ask for help. I have placed these cookbooks on ebay and if anyone is need of an xmas gift, they will make a great one. MOST IMPORTANTLY you are helping me get the treatment I need. I can make sure you get them before xmas if you plan to use them as gifts. They don’t have to be ordered we have them right here…thank you again everyone and if you can’t help monetarily, I could sure use a prayer lol. Thank you again everyone, Thank you.”

“There is no exercise better for the heart than reaching down and lifting people up.” John Holmes

100 Day Challenge

100 Day Challenge

Use Your Powers for Good…

Sometimes it just takes one small act to make a difference in someone else’s life. We all need a push in the right direction and then journey becomes clear. The other day I met with my friend, Kenworth Reeves, Jr. at Dunkin Donuts. (This is a branding blog, right?)  Over a short conversation about our marketing companies, the wonders of being a dad, future projects and the vision of our own brands, Kenworth challenged me to make it happen. Period. He casually tossed out a 100 Day Challenge. I wanted 120 days, maybe 200. But, I’ve been talking to a few close friends about two new projects that I think will end up changing my company or putting it into a new direction. So I agreed to his 100 Day Challenge and I challenged him to do the same.

When we talk in branding about having passion for what you do, the same applies to branding companies. Kenworth is reviewing his company and projects too. Every ounce of time, energy and who you spend that time with to help your clients achieve their goals is a critical decision – especially when you have a family at home waiting on you. We all face these decisions and in the end we wall want to make a difference in the world we live in.

Taking the Challenge
So, with all that being said, I took the challenge and am taking the first step in moving down that new path. I went home and created a Facebook event that night. I was surprised that in no time I had 6, then 10… and now 16 others who are joining me. I’m not sure what their challenge is yet but I’m sure it will be awesome to share in this change with them. We all are on a journey to find need a deeper meaning or reach a new goal in our short lives.

Make it happen! We preach about telling the story of “finding your passion” to our clients. It’s not just brand-speak. It’s the truth. Even branders have to do it, too. The buck stops here so look for more changes and a new journey ahead for LaunchMob and its clients. I hope you celebrate with me on August 12, 2012!
